Dear Carol,
My name is Qian Liu. I was a postdoc at Harvard Medical School in the past 3 years, and have just been back to China for several weeks to assum the office of vice dean of Gannan Medical College in Ganzhou, Jiangxi province.
As you know, the former Chinese Soviet Goverment was founded by the Red Army at this place more than 70 years ago, Jiangxi is so called the Cradle of the Chinese Red Revolution.
I guess, a visit to this place will be much helpful to understand the history and many originations of today's China. If you are interested about adding Jiangxi to you plan, I can help to arrange your local trip, including meeting with the Governor of Chief Secratry of CPC of Jiangxi.
Please keep in touch, if it is not applicable this time, maybe, we can plan it in the future. You are most welcomed to Ganzhou, Jiangxi!
Best wishes.
Qian Liu
in Ganzhou, Jiangxi, China

Greater China Trip 2009
If your answers are yes, here is the perfect trip for you!
This year’s trip is the fourth annual student trip organized by the
Harvard Kennedy School China Caucus. Within China, we are covering
both the southern and northern parts of China as well as urban and
rural areas. Further, it is the first time this year that we are going
outside of Mainland China and including Taiwan and Hong Kong onto the
trip. We will be visiting Taipei, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Xi’An and
Beijing from May 22 (after finals) to June 2 (before graduation).
We’re in the process of setting up the following meetings, with
several of them confirmed: President Ma Ying-jeou, Vice President
Vincent Siew and top businessmen in Taiwan; Hong Kong Chief Executive
Donald Tsang, former Financial Secretary of HK and current chairman of
Blackstone Group’s Asian office Antony Leung and top businessmen; Vice
mayor in Shenzhen, high tech company visits, Vice governor in Shaan
Xi, Minister of Commerce and Vice Minister of Education, top
professors from China, etc.
Of course, we’ll visit the tourist sites, experience the history and
culture, go shopping, eating, clubbing, and do all the fun stuff
that’s out there! J
Pls note that this trip is meant to be primarily for first-timers to
the region. Pls kindly RSVP to harvardkennedychinacaucus@gmail.com
before March 1 if you’re interested. We’ll only send out detailed
information of the trip and announcement of information session to
people who have RSVP’d.
