Re: 2005 U.S. Foreign Policy Colloquium: June 1-4, 2005
We are pleased to provide you with information on the 2005 U.S. Foreign Policy Colloquium. The program, now in its third year, is for students from the PRC who are currently enrolled in graduate programs at American universities. We thank you for publicizing this exciting program to students in your organization last year, and hope that you will help us again this year by getting the word out to as many potential participants as possible.
The U.S. Foreign Policy Colloquium is a three-day, in-depth examination of American foreign policy, comprised of lectures; panel discussions; group exercises; and site visits and featuring many exciting, knowledgeable speakers. It is designed to be informative, but also interactive, with opportunities throughout for dialogue between students and speakers. Last year's speakers included Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs James Kelly, Officer for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Daniel W. Sutherland, former U.S. Trade Representative Carla Hills, former Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara, and former U.S. Representative to the UN Commission on the Status of Women Linda Tarr-Whelan. We are again inviting both current and former Administration officials to this year's FPC.
The FPC will again be held at the Elliott School of The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. It will begin with a keynote speech and reception late in the afternoon of Wednesday, June 1 and end with optional sightseeing on the morning of Saturday, June 4. For more details, please refer to the attached flyer and our website (http://www.ncuscr.org/FPC/FPChome.htm).
We hope you will distribute the attached flyer as widely as possible since the program depends on the participation of enthusiastic and qualified students. We would appreciate your helping us publicize the 2005 FPC by sharing this information with students in your association and with Chinese graduate student organizations in other universities.
