Course Decision Assistant, 3rd Edition

Welcome to the 4th edition of the Course Decision Assistant. Our database has been updated with coutse catalog and CUE Guide data for the 1999-2000 academic year. In addition, the behind-the-scenes portion of CDA has been rewritten from the ground up. This will hopefully make it more maintainable and allow us to add future enhancements more easily. But for now, use the CDA just as you always have--and enjoy!

Searching with CDA

Keyword Search >>> Use the keyword search to quickly look up courses.
Options

Form Search >>> Using the form-based HTML interface, you can look for courses with a basic form or with advanced search queries.
Raptor >>> Raptor is our Java-based client which runs as a full application. It includes features such as a streamlined search interface, an exam view, schedule printing, natural browsing and schedule and exam fitting. It runs on Windows, MacOS, and UNIX platforms.

Scheduling with CDA

The Course Decision Assistant allows you to download course-related information in the industry-standard iCalendar format. Some personal information managers that use the iCalendar format include:

Program

Platforms

Description

Netscape Calendar 4.0 Windows 95/98/NT, MacOS, Unix Netscape Calendar, which is part of Netscape Commuinicator Professional, allows you to import downloaded vCourse files. We suggest that you use this client with CDA.
KOrganizer Unix KOrganizer aims to be a complete program for organizing your appointments, contacts, projects, etc. It is in the same spirit as similar programs like the now ubiquitous Microsoft Outlook, Starfish Internet Sidekick, Time & Chaos, etc.
Outlook 98 Windows 95/98/NT Microsoft Outlook¨ 2000 provides a single location for organizing and managing all your day-to-day information, from e-mail and calendars to contacts and task lists. Unfortunately Outlook's support of the iCalendar standard is rather dismal (surprise)--we suggest you use one of the other clients instead.
Palm Organizers PalmOS The Palm III portable personal information device transmits calendar entries between systems using the vCalendar format. The device can transmit one or more vCalendar events at a time, and can interact with any other IrDA device that can handle vCalendar entries.
