Welcome to the ProperTreatment wiki!

ProperTreatment is a wiki. What is a wiki? It is a Web site that anyone can modify, a collaboration tool that supports an anarchic community. In short, everybody on the Web can edit and create pages here, by following a simple set of TextFormattingRules. For more details on what makes a wiki and the history of wikis, see UseMod:WhatIsaWiki.

The ProperTreatment Wiki was created on April 1, 2001 by KenShan. It is named after Richard Montague's famous paper "The proper treatment of quantification in ordinary English" (in R. Thomason ed., Formal Philosophy: Selected Papers of Richard Montague, 247-270). It remains to be seen how Montague's ideas will feature in this Wiki.

Be sure to visit the original wiki at Wiki:FrontPage. It was invented by Wiki:WardCunningham. Also check out Wiki:TipsForBeginners.

This Wiki runs a locally modified version of UseModWiki version 0.91.
