The article seems to be slightly inaccurate, however, when it comes to the Deaf President Now movement. According to the book Deaf President Now! by John Christiansen and Sharon Barnartt [ISBN 1563680351], Solomon incorrectedly quoted the Gallaudet chairman as saying that "the deaf are not yet ready to function in the hearing world". In the same book, it is suggested that the common characterization of DPN as a student protest is an oversimplification.
