The Digitas Constitution
Article I. Name
The name of this organization shall be Digitas.
Article II. Purpose
The purpose of Digitas shall be to enhance undergraduate life at
Harvard through the active use and promotion of high technology.
Article III. Membership
- Membership in this organization shall be open to all students
in good standing currently enrolled in Harvard University, regardless
of race, creed, color, sex, sexual orientation, or physical disability.
- Membership in this organization shall be retained until the
student severs relations with the university, whether by graduation
or otherwise, or if the board of the organization determines that
the member is no longer fulfilling his or her membership responsibilities.
- All members shall pay such annual dues as may be designated
from time to time.
- Any member may resign at any time by filing a written resignation
with the board.
Article IV. Officers
- The officers of this group shall consist of a President and
two additional board members.
- Board members are nominated by the active members and elected
by the Board.
- The President shall be the chief executive officer of the group
and shall have general supervision and control of its activities
and programs.
- The board shall oversee appointing and assigning of member responsibilities,
and shall maintain the organization's finances with the President.
- The new President shall be nominated by the active members,
and elected by the current President and the Board.
- Elections will be held at the end of every fall term before
one month into the spring term. The new president shall take office
within 3 weeks of being elected. Former board members (including
the president) have the option of staying on the board as a board
member for an additional semester to guide the new board.
Article V. Meetings
- The meetings of this organization shall take place as deemed
necessary by the President and the board. The board and President
shall meet on a regular basis.
- Meetings shall be held for organizational purposes only, and
thus only require the presence of the President and at least one
board member.
Article VI. Amendments
- The constitution may be amended as deemed necessary by agreement
of all officers.
- Any officer may submit an amendment proposal to be considered.
Amendments to the Digitas Constitution:
- At minimum, the board shall consist of the President and one
other officer. At maximum, it shall consist of the President and
two other officers.
- One board member title shall be named Technical Director. This
position entails maintaining Digitas facilities.
- Alumni Board:
- Section 1. An Alumni Board shall be created to ensure that
all matters concerning the autonomous entity Digitas are upheld
and continued. The duties of the Alumni Board shall be to
advise on issues concerning the adjournment of the club, bankruptcy
of the club, and or other issues of a severe nature in the
spirit of this section.
- Section 2. The Alumni Board shall consist of Digitas members
who have graduated from the college and served as board members
without having had any issues/actions that were unbecoming
a Digitas Board member. The current board each year after
the election of the new board shall decide jointly with the
new board who shall and shall not be added to the list of
eligible Alumni Board members. If eligible, upon graduation,
each member of the list shall become an official Alumni Board
member.
